Jim Del Real
Our captain, 68-year-old Jim Del Real, has been an avid fisherman all of his life. He grew up fishing the Atlantic out of New Jersey and worked as a mate on charter boats and head boats. He has fished some of the greatest fresh and saltwater bodies of water and has been fishing Lake Ontario for nearly three decades — the last 32 years out of Sodus Point. He has fished the Lake from as far east as Sackets Harbor and as far west as Wilson. He looks forward to a great season and taking you out to catch unbelievable fish.

Letters of Recommendation
I'm writing this letter in appreciation of your loyal years of service and friendship to both my family and friends who have made the trek with me to fish with you in either Sodus, New York, in the spring and summer then in Rochester in the fall for the September king trips. When Dave Williams called me and told me he had found a great individual and charter captain that seemed to have the great passion of fishing in Lake Ontario but also the compassion of treating his customers as his friends and family! My legacy is I have been blessed with this being the 30th year I will be fishing with you! I not only consider you my friend but you are part of my family! If you ask any of my friends about Captain Jim they will tell you his passion for catching fish is extraordinary! His voice sometimes goes off "GET IT GET IT GET IT" when a pole releases with a fish on the other end to his dead silence when somehow we lose a hookup. To his letting us get the pole in the water. I have fished with Captain Jim this will be my 70th time this Sept and every year look forward to seeing Him. I have chartered (2) boats many times with Jim and have had great success with his partners as well. I have had many great years with Diamond J Charters as Capt Jim has the pictures to prove it! In closing Captain Jim you are one of the most passionate captains to catching fish in Lake Ontario along with your experience, knowledge, and passion is second to none! From my family, Cindy, Matthew, Christopher, Tommy, Bobby, Frankie, Uncle Bill, and friends Bonehead, Have, Craig, Randy, JaMott, Amy, and Kenny who gets motion sick every time he goes but catches fish we extend a great big thank you for being who you are! I'm honored to have fished with you all these years and look forward to many many more!
